Are you sitting down? George R.R. Martin’s Winds of Winter will be released in 2021.

George R.R. Martin

Seems we’ve found a benefit from the Coronavirus pandemic. George R.R. Martin confined in his home has nothing else to do but write. According to Martin, he’s “in an actual cabin in the mountains” spending “long hours every day” writing The Winds of Winter. In his blog, he wrote,

“The enforced isolation has helped me write. I am spending long hours every day on The Winds of Winter, and making steady progress. I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week. But no, this does not mean that the book will be finished tomorrow or published next week. It’s going to be a huge book, and I still have a long way to go … I have bad days, which get me down, and good days, which lift me up, but all in all I am pleased with the way things are doing.”

Martin says it’s going to be a huge book. Oh, and his HBO prequel, House of the Dragon, is coming along too. You can check out his entire post here:
