Superman: Man of Steel is scheduled for release on June 14, 2013. Produced by Warner Bros., the movie will be a reboot of the Superman film series. The movie will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman (the first non-American to play the part). Amy Adams will play Louis Lane while Michael Shannon will play the part of General Zod (a powerful Krptonian solder with superhuman powers). Antie Traue will play the part of Faora, a frequently appearing female superhuman villain in the Superman comic series. Other actors appearing include Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, and Laurence Fishburne.
“Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero Superman to protect its people.”
Filming for the movie began on August 1, 2011 (and completed in February 2012) and has been all over the place including locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Vancouver and many points in between.
