Paper Girls graphic novel ordered to series by Amazon.

Paper Girls from Image Comics

Paper Girls is heading to Amazon! The project comes from Legendary Television and Plan B and is based on Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s graphic novel of the same name. Toy Story 4 writer Stephany Folsom wrote the adaptation while Vaughan and Chiang will act as executive producers for the project.

Paper Girls, from Image Comics, is a mystery/science fiction comic book series that follows four 12-year-old girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween, become caught in a conflict between warring time-travelers. As they travel from the past, through the present and into the future, they encounter various versions of themselves, learning important lessons along the way. The series began publication on October 7, 2015 and concluded on July 31, 2019 with issue #30. Paper Girls won two Eisner Awards in 2016, one for Best new Series.

Folsom expressed the excitement surrounding the project:

“As huge fans of what Brian and Cliff created in Paper Girls, we couldn’t be more excited by the opportunity to bring this incredible adventure to life. This is a story with so much heart, and so many unique colors and dimensions — our sincere hope is not only to do justice to the source material, but to make Paper Girls unlike anything else currently on TV.

We love bringing Paper Girls to our global Amazon Prime Video audience as an original series. Brian’s beloved, widely acclaimed and multiple Eisner Award-winning story delivers a gripping concept grounded by compelling characters. We have a great partnership with Legendary and Plan B, and the perfect creative team of Stephany, Christopher, and Christopher, to bring Brian and Cliff’s graphic novels to life.”
