One of the stars of Marvel’s upcoming Moon Knight series has died following a serious ski accident. The French Cesar-winning actor Gaspard Ulliel was hospitalized on Tuesday after a ski accident in the Alps. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Grenoble where he died from a skull injury suffered after a collision on the slopes in the Savoie region.
Mountain police say they have 5-6 rescued per day in recent weeks after the snow hardened.
Ulliel is known for movies Hannibal Rising, Saint Laurent, It’s Only The End Of The World, A Very Long Engagement and as the face of the Chanel fragrance Bleu de Chanel. He will play the villain Midnight Man (Anton Mogart) in the anticipated Moon Knight series.
Ulliel received praise in France for his performances in Summer Things (2002) and Strayed (2003), both of which saw him earn nominations for Most Promising Actor at the César Awards. In 2004, he finally won the award for his performance in A Very Long Engagement, which he starred in alongside Marion Cotillard, Audrey Tatou and Jodie Foster. He won the Best Actor César 13 years later for Dolan’s It’s Only the End of the World.
