Orphan Black has a new streaming setup in the United States, with all five seasons of Tatiana Maslany’s acclaimed sci-fi thriller now available on both HBO Max and Peacock through co-exclusive deals arranged by Boat Rocker Studios. The move puts the complete clone-conspiracy saga in two high-profile subscription libraries at once. The series’ new streaming homes make it easier for longtime fans to revisit the story—and for curious newcomers to start from the beginning.
The series follows Sarah Manning, a streetwise woman whose life spirals into danger after she witnesses the death of someone who looks exactly like her. Taking the dead woman’s identity reveals a far larger mystery: Sarah is one of numerous genetically identical women, each living a different life while being pulled into a conspiracy involving their origins and survival. Maslany’s performance across the clone ensemble became the show’s defining achievement, with the actor portraying characters whose personalities, accents, relationships, and physical mannerisms sharply distinguish them from one another.
Boat Rocker produced Orphan Black with BBC America and CTV Sci-Fi Channel. The studio’s Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier executive produced alongside co-creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, with Boat Rocker and BBC Studios handling distribution in the United States and BBC Studios distributing the series internationally.
Originally launched in 2013, the drama built its reputation through a tightly serialized story that mixed biotechnology, espionage, identity horror, and dark comedy. Its five-season run earned major critical recognition, including the 2014 Peabody Award for Drama, while Maslany received an Emmy for her work on the series. The complete run is now listed as available through HBO Max and Peacock in the U.S., with additional purchase and channel options varying by service and subscription.
The new deal also arrives as the broader Orphan Black universe continues to demonstrate value beyond the original series. AMC Networks and Boat Rocker previously developed Orphan Black: Echoes, a follow-up set in the same world. The spinoff was created by Anna Fishko, with original-series co-creator John Fawcett serving as an executive producer and director; Krysten Ritter led the cast.
For viewers, the immediate takeaway is straightforward: Sarah Manning’s entire story can now be streamed through either HBO Max or Peacock rather than assembled season by season. For Boat Rocker, placing the complete series on two major services gives the franchise another opportunity to reach audiences who missed its original run—and to keep Orphan Black in the conversation as one of television’s most ambitious modern science-fiction dramas.
