How do I get free shipping?

If you order enough stuff, we can absorb the shipping costs without going broke. Thus we offer FREE SHIPPING on orders that exceed $100.

I didn’t hit the required minimum but still got free shipping. Home come?

99% of the time, if we import the item and we know it’s gonna take a couple of weeks to get here, we absorb the shipping into the cost of the product. The shipping arrangements with out suppliers can be complicated but suffice to say, we pass the savings on to you.

Which shipping method do I choose?

Shipping methods are determined automatically by the system based on product weight, size, etc. In most cases, the choice will be between USPS First Class and USPS Priority. The Post Office gives USPS Priority mail priority over other mail. First Class delivery typically takes 3 days. Priority Mail is quicker and typically takes 2 days. However, if the item is imported, our delivery window is often extended (see below).

What delivery time should I expect?

Since we use both in-house warehousing and dropshippers, shipping times can vary. Most orders are processed within 1-3 business days and usually within 24 hours of receiving the order. Then delivery takes around 2-3 days. If the item is dropshipped, the delivery time can be longer. If it’s imported, it can take up to 30 days since most imported stuff comes all the way from China. We always note special delivery times so you know when to expect arrival of the item. You can view our complete shipping policy here.

What is your return policy?

Each product shipped from Geek Slop is carefully inspected twice – once when the product is received from our wholesaler and a second time when it is prepared for shipment to our customers. Quality control is important to us to ensure we never ship an item that is damaged in any way.

However, if you are unhappy with a product, we provide 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused (not worn, unwashed) and in the same condition that you received it. The returned item must be in the original packaging. The returned item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. When the return is approved, we will initiate a store credit to your account. If the return is not approved, we will return the product to you using COD shipping.

Do you offer warranties?

We don’t offer warranties but often the manufacturer of our products does. Check with them for details.

What payment options do you offer?

We provide payment processing through PayPal and Stripe. Both are reputable payment processors. We don’t store any of your payment information on our servers so you can be assured your payment information is safe (unless of course, you know, PayPal gets hacked).

Do you refund shipping costs?

Unfortunately, low overhead prohibits refund of shipping costs for returning your item. Sorry, but shipping costs are nonrefundable.

Where do you get the stuff you sell?

I could go on for days about supply chains and how we obtain our products. In short, we get stuff from all over the place using all kinds of different methods. Ultimately, given the market, a large number of the products come from China because they are great at making toys and other molded products at low costs. On the other hand, most apparel comes from the U.S. because the quality is better. The criteria for selection are (in this order): (1) quality (2) cost. If the product is good quality and the cost seems fair, we buy it for resale to our customers – doesn’t matter where it comes from.

Do you accept article submissions?

If you’re wanting to pen an article as an advertisement, forget it. Been there, done that – the resulting article had no use for my readers. But if you want to contribute an original writing then sure, I’ll give you the platform to publicize it on.

What is the “Warrant canary” at the bottom of the page?

You will find the Warrant Canary/Transparency Report at the bottom of the page. The purpose is legal dance between me and the authorities. Court orders always prevent disclosing any subpoenas. However, there is no law against informing readers that there has not been a court-issued subpoena as of a particular date. So if the Warrant Canary is not updated or it is removed, you can assume that we have been served with a subpoena.

What is your privacy policy?

Everybody has one and so do we. You can view the complete privacy policy here but it’s mostly just legal stuff. Suffice to say, we are the least-evil website you’re ever gonna find. We hate spam, sale of customer data, etc. just as much as you do.

What if I have a copyright claim?

If you have a copyright claim, just contact me and I will work with you on it. Normally I only use works if I feel they will help the artist and always attribute them properly. However, artists can be sort of weird sometimes so, just let me know if you have a copyright questions or complaint.

What is the web chat bot and why is he/she a smartass?

To help ease the burden of operating a large-scale website, we enlisted the assistance of a web chat facility. When you begin the web chat, a bot will get you started. He’s not that smart but learning all the time. If the bot can’t help, and it’s during office hours, a real, live person will take over.
