The upcoming free-to-play God in Hi-Rez’ action-MOBA Smite, will be out next week on February 21. Check out the official trailer.

SMITE Ishtar

Meet Martichoras, the Manticore King, with the body of a lion, the tail of a scorpion, and the face of a human. He’s the upcoming God in Hi-Rez’s action-packed game, SMITE, and will be released next week on February 21. In the new cinematic reveal trailer, this fierce predator hunts down a Greek soldier who’s run out of luck.

But it doesn’t stop there. Martichoras’ favorite meal is human flesh, and now he’s got his sights set on the Gods themselves. To achieve his goal, he’ll make his lair on the SMITE Duo Lane, where he’ll team up with an allied player to take down minions. He’s a Hunter class character and the first creature of its kind in SMITE.

SMITE-Gilgamesh

With venomous projectiles shot from his scorpion tail, Martichoras uses unique ranged attacks to deal damage over time. He’s always on the hunt and can even use a patch of stealth grass to hide before leaping out to attack. As the self-proclaimed king of the manticores, he can also shoot a massive stinger that bursts with poison. And his ultimate move is something out of a nightmare – he briefly takes to the sky before raining down a barrage of toxic poisons.

Martichoras is not new to SMITE. Originally known as the Manticore, he was the first boss players faced to complete the tutorial. Now, ten years later, he’s back to claim revenge as the Manticore King, much like Surtr, the Fire Giant, for the launch of the Season of Monsters last month.

In Greek mythology, Martichoras was the first Manticore to be seen by humans. Thousands of years of practice have made him stronger, faster, and smarter than any of his kind, and he’s now back to wreak havoc in the SMITE universe.

For more details on Martichoras, including the second half of the Magic: The Gathering Crossover, be sure to tune into the Update Show on February 15th at 3 pm on https://www.twitch.tv/smitegame.
