About the Expendables 4 movie.

Expendables 4 is directed by Patrick Hughes and produced by Vertice Cine, Lionsgate, and Millennium Films. The new Expendables installment is produced by Statham, Kevin King Templeton, and Les Weldon Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein, and Jonathan Yunger on behalf of Millennium Media. Executive Producers for Millennium Media are Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, and Trevor Short with Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman on behalf of Campbell Grobman Films. Co-Producer is Abby Mills. Eda Kowan and Jonah Leach will oversee the film for Lionsgate.

By November 2014, it was announced that Expendables 4 is being developed. In December 2016, Stallone announced that the fourth installment will be the final film in the series, while a scheduled tentative release date was set for 2018.

By March 2017, Stallone had left the project and the franchise, due to creative differences over the script and direction for continuing the franchise. In January 2018, after vocal support from other cast members (including Schwarzenegger), Stallone announced his return to the series. In July 2018, Gregory Poirier announced his role as screenwriter.

By August 2020, Vértice Cine announced their involvement as a production studio on the movie, alongside Lionsgate and Millennium Films. They also revealed that Patrick Hughes will return to the series as director, and announced the release date as being set for 2022.

Crew member injuries will not delay production of Expendables 4. November 16, 2021

Two crew members have been injured during the production of The Expendables 4, which is currently filming in Greece. A painter fell during pre-production, was hospitalized, and has now been released. The second injury occurred when a stuntman backed up a vehicle over an assistant’s foot. Neither injury will cause delays in the film’s production.

Lionsgate announces The Expendables will return in all-new film. August 30, 2021

Lionsgate has announced that they are once again teaming up with Millennium Media for a continuation of The Expendables saga. Jason Statham (Wrath of Man, F9), Dolph Lundgren (Creed II), Randy Couture (Blowback), and Sylvester Stallone (The Suicide Squad) will all reprise their roles as Lee Christmas, Gunner Jensen, Toll Road, and Barney Ross, respectively. In addition, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power), Megan Fox (Till Death), and Tony Jaa (Monster Hunter) are set to join the franchise in new roles.

The film will begin production this fall and is being directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor, Need for Speed) from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen with revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.

Jason Constantine, President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said,

“We are thrilled to partner with our friends at Millennium Media for the next installment of the Expendables franchise. It’s so much fun to bring these stars together for a no-holds-barred action film. The new film will raise the stakes and be the biggest, most badass adventure yet.”

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed on Instagram that principal photography is getting underway in October for the “Expendables spinoff movie”. It looks like this could be a holiday themed action films as the working title is apparently Christmas Story.

“Off to shoot the spinoff of EXPENDABLES ( Temp. working title is , Christmas Story ) in OCT.”

Sylvester Stallone teased the upcoming Expendables 4 film with a post on Instagram showing a golden skull ring with purple stone eyes. It is assumed to be the character’s new lucky ring. Stallone wrote:

“Just finished the designing the new ring for EXPENDABLE 4 It’s a little heavy, but it’ll definitely put some muscles on your fingertips.”

The fourth chapter is not confirmed to have a script or director as of yet, though one can assume Stallone is reprising his role given the post of his new ring.

For casting, the only confirmations thus far include Stallone, Randy Couture and Jason Statham. Other actors have been rumored to star in the upcoming action flick such as Dave Bautista, Robert Downey Jr. and Liam Neeson.

A release date has yet to be confirmed.
