McFarlane Toys, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions, is a company founded by comic book creator Todd McFarlane which makes highly detailed model figurines of characters from films, comics, popular music, video games and various sporting genres. Originally dubbed “Todd’s Toys,” the name was changed in 1995 following pressure from Mattel, who feared that the new company’s name would be confused with that of Barbie’s younger brother.
