The Mesopelagic zone is located between 200 and 1000 meters deep. It is characterized by very little sunlight, and as a result, the temperature is colder than the sunlit zone. Marine life in this zone includes jellyfish, squid, and octopuses. These creatures have adapted to the low light conditions of the twilight zone, and they use bioluminescence to communicate and navigate.
