Here’s the full 10-minute footage of the George Floyd arrest and death at the hands of Minneapolis, Minnesota police – with transcript of bystander/police talk.

George Floyd neck knelt on by police officer

George Floyd was a African-American man who died on May 25, 2020, after Derek Chauvin, a white Minneapolis police officer, knelt on Floyd’s neck for at least seven minutes while he was handcuffed and lying face down on the road. Officers Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng also helped restrain Floyd, while officer Tou Thao stood nearby acting as a barrier to bystanders.

The day after Floyd died, Derek Chauvin and three other officers were fired.

Police training typically dictates that officers should keep suspects on their stomachs while handcuffed as briefly as possible because that position can cause them to asphyxiate.
