Who was Marilyn Monroe?
Marilyn Monroe was one of the most famous actresses, models, and singers of the 20th century. She was born on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, as Norma Jeane Mortenson. Monroe had a difficult childhood and spent most of her youth in foster homes and orphanages. Despite her challenging upbringing, she grew up to become a symbol of beauty, femininity, and grace.
Monroe started her career as a model in the late 1940s, and her stunning looks quickly caught the attention of Hollywood. She signed her first film contract with a major studio in 1946 and began a career that would make her one of the most recognizable faces in the world.
Throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, Monroe starred in several iconic films, including “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” “The Seven Year Itch,” and “Some Like It Hot.” She was known for her comedic timing, her sultry voice, and her ability to capture the hearts of audiences around the world.
Despite her success, Monroe’s personal life was often tumultuous. She struggled with mental health issues, and her marriages to Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller were both marked by controversy. In 1962, Monroe died of a drug overdose at the age of 36, leaving behind a legacy that would endure for decades to come.
