Two-tier Internet ahead - protect Internet freedom

And in this corner, weighing in at 235 lbs, wearing vibrant red shorts emblazoned with a star and sickle, once the self-proclaimed leader of the free world and nooooooowwww the leader of a small isolated office in the southern end of the White House, Donald “Tiny Hands” Trump. Facing Tiny Hands will be an army of millions of Internet users backed by several thousand website owners and hundreds of lethal hackers, all hell-bent on making sure the US Federal Government understands that Net Neutrality rules must be followed…

What is happening on July 12?

Big ISPs want to kill net neutrality - take action now

Net Neutrality, the principle that Internet operations should be free of government and big business control, is the fundamental precursor to free speech. On July 12, websites, Internet users, and hackers across the country will sound the alarm about the federal government’s newly invigorated attack on net neutrality. Websites will display “spinning wheel of death” and faux “blocked” modal alerts while Internet users will bombard forums and comment sections with pleas to keep net neutrality rules in place. Hackers will, eh…

The importance of Net Neutrality

The FCC’s reclassification of broadband as a Title II carrier service prohibits ISPs from blocking or throttling traffic in exchange for payment and requires their practices and rates be “just and reasonable”. This ensures all Internet users and website operators share Internet traffic equally with no government or big business restrictions.  At the hands of US President Donald Trump and Chairman Ajit Pai (a former Verizon attorney), net neutrality rules are dangerously close to being rolled back.
