The Mariana Islands are a chain of 15 islands located in the western North Pacific Ocean. They are divided into two political territories: the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam, which is an unincorporated territory of the United States. The islands are home to a diverse population with a mix of indigenous Chamorro people, Filipino, Japanese, and American communities. The islands are known for their stunning natural beauty, including crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, and tropical forests. The Mariana Islands are also famous for being the site of the deepest point on Earth, the Challenger Deep, which is located in the Mariana Trench.
