Marvel boss Kevin Feige drops hint on The Marvels’ potential and compares it to an iconic moment from The Avengers. February 15, 2023
The Marvels will feature three of the most prominent female heroes in the MCU, including Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. Teyonah Parris, who last appeared in WandaVision, will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau, a character who possesses superhuman abilities that allow her to manipulate energy. Kamala Khan, who was introduced in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, will also make an appearance in The Marvels, although the exact nature of her role is yet to be revealed.
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, highlighted the significance of having these three female heroes together on screen. He stated that seeing these three powerful women working together is iconic, and he even drew comparisons to the original Avengers gathering in the 2012 film.
“The Marvels is picking up directly after the end of Captain Marvel 1, not in timeline but in story. We also do that in our upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, and those are two very different follow-ups to that movie. Tonally, they couldn’t be more different. But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. To me, it’s only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in a frame. It’s chill-inducing. They’re so great together, and they all have different histories with one another.”

It’s a really unique experience. “I’m a huge fan of Disneyland, so to me it feels like I get to go to my own private Disneyland every single day, because they’re building all these insane worlds that no-one else knows about, no-one else gets to see. I’m in sets that are bigger than you can imagine right now and it’s really special, and it’s super fun and bizarre.”
