Rainer and Edit Shattles of Jackson County, Mississippi were quite perplexed after reviewing video from their “deer cam” that had been set up in an open field on their 150 acres of land in rural Mississippi. The deer cam, which is triggered by an infrared sensor, snaps images of wildlife animals as they approach the deer feeder. To their surprise, on February 16, 2014, it revealed a set of odd hovering lights descending from the night sky. The Shattles are baffled, never imagining they would be caught up in a worldwide UFO mystery that has become known around the Internet as, the Deer UFO Photos.
Shots of the mysterious lights were captured in the Cumbest Bluff area of Jackson Country, Mississippi and discovered by the Shattles the following morning when they checked on the footage that had been captured the night before. At first the pair of bright-lit orbs appears to be car or truck headlights suspended off the ground, but later frames clearly show the object rising into the sky. Specifically, the deer cam frames show this:
7:24 PM: Deer appear near the feeder
7:29 PM: a dim light appears on frame
7:35 PM: the light brightens considerable casting a column of light towards the ground
7:56 PM: two bright lights appear floating high above the ground
8:09 PM: The two bright lights appear lower to the ground, focused on the deer
The Shattles were stunned.
“Well at first, I was trying to see if it was something or a reason for what we were seeing. But the more we looked at it, the more we realized that it was something that was in the air, it was something that I had never seen before.”
Skeptics theorized that the lights must have been car headlights or a 4×4 vehicle with roof lights but Mr. Shattles, who is familiar with the layout of the land and carefully examined the area afterward, told reporters that no automobile tracks were found anywhere near the feeder (nor is there a road nearby). He also pointed out that the captured frames also show movement of the object, rising above the ground. He won’t go so far as to say the UFO is from another planet though.
“Well, if it’s alien, I’m not sure about that. But it’s definitely a UFO. Now whether it’s a government drone or what, I wish if nothing else, one of them would step up and say, ‘Yes, that’s ours.’”
The Cumbest Bluff area is only 15 miles from the site of the 1973 Pascagoula Abduction in which co-workers Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker claimed to have been abducted by aliens while fishing near Pascagoula, Mississippi.
