Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, Cable, X-Force, and more notably, the founder of Image Comics, the innovative upstart venue for creator-owned properties, has again broken the mold of mainstream comic book publishing. On January 20, 2022, Liefeld will publish his newest comic, The Defiants, as a non-fungible token (NFT). The Defiants will be available on MakersPlace, a marketplace for high-dollar NFT collectables.

Liefeld plans The Defiants to be the first of four titles he introduces via NFT.
