There’s gonna be a major showdown in Gotham soon. Batman and Catwoman are gonna go head-to-head, but here’s the thing – crime’s been down in Gotham lately. Is that even a good thing? The new DC Comics series, Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War, is spinning out of the crazy nightmares that Batman’s been having in Knight Terrors: Batman. Get ready, ’cause it’s all going down on August 29, 2023. And it’s not just gonna be in Batman and Catwoman – the whole Dawn of DC crossover event is gonna be happening in special one-shots and a miniseries too.

This conflict has been brewing for over a year, and now it’s finally hitting the streets. Brace yourselves for the Gotham War, and catch the opening shot in Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War – Battle Lines #1! It’s written by the bestselling duo Chip Zdarsky and Tini Howard, and illustrated by Mike Hawthorne and Adriano Di Benedetto. This special kickoff issue is available at comic shops starting August 29th! You can pick it up with the main cover by Jorge Jimenez, or opt for the cool variants by Joe Quesada, Kael Ngu, or Otto Schmidt. And for you collectors out there, there’s even a 1:100 inked version of Quesada’s cover. Trust me, this is gonna be epic!

This issue is written by the talented Chip Zdarsky with art and a main cover by the amazing Jorge Jimenez. Batman is more determined than ever to save his beloved Gotham City, but he faces new challenges as former allies become enemies. Can anyone stop his reign of terror? Should they even try? Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War continues in Catwoman #57, written by Tini Howard with art by Nico Leon. While Batman finds himself more and more isolated, Selina is never alone. With a volunteer army and two powerful generals by her side, the ballet between her and Bruce enters its next act with a shocking twist. Catwoman #57 is available on September 19 with a main cover by David Nakayama, open-to-order variants by Jamie McKelvie and Joshua “Sway” Swaby, a 1:25 variant by Rian Gonzales, and Sway’s cover available in a 1:50 version.

Catwoman writer Tini Howard, said,

The Gotham War has fractured the Bat-Family in dramatic ways—none more intensely than with Jason Todd. This stunning event will forever alter the destiny of the man who wears the Red Hood! Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War: Red Hood #1 will be available at local comic shops on September 26.

Zdarsky added,

“I don’t want to spoil anything, but with Selina’s recent breakout from jail and Bruce’s struggles with Zur-En-Arrh, things are going to get intense in Gotham.

The creative team of writers Chip Zdarsky and Tini Howard and artists Mike Hawthorne and Adriano Di Benedetto will also cap off the crossover event with Batman/Catwoman: The Gotham War – Scorched Earth #1, available on October 31. Details on the final issue in the Gotham War event will be released soon.
