
Nintendo held a video presentation to announce its upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch, including new games featuring Mario and friends. Some of the games announced were Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a new side-scrolling installment in the series; Super Mario RPG, which is the first RPG game in the Super Mario series; and a visually enhanced version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. A new game starring Princess Peach was also announced. In addition, Nintendo announced Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: The Last Spark Hunter, which is the second paid DLC for the tactical adventure game. Furthermore, Wave 5 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC was announced, which includes new courses and characters such as Petey Piranha, Wiggler, and Kamek.
Nintendo’s upcoming games also include Detective Pikachu Returns, WarioWare: Move It!, and Pikmin 4. More information was shared about Pikmin 4, which will feature night expeditions and Glow Pikmin for the first time. A demo of Pikmin 4 will be available on June 28 in the Nintendo eShop. HD versions of the original Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 games for Nintendo Switch will also be available in the Nintendo eShop, either individually or as a discounted digital bundle.
Additionally, Nintendo’s global publishing and development partners have many games in the pipeline, including Batman: Arkham Trilogy, Palia, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, and Persona 5 Tactica.

- Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Get ready for the next evolution of 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. games coming to Nintendo Switch! When you stumble upon a Wonder Flower in the game, the world unleashes its wonders – pipes come alive, hordes of enemies may pop up, characters change their looks, and more – totally transforming the gameplay in unpredictable ways. So, there’s excitement and different surprises to look forward to in every course. Talking about characters, Super Mario Bros. Wonder features Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Yoshi as playable characters, along with familiar ones like Mario, Luigi, and Toad. And, that’s not all, Super Mario Bros. - Super Mario RPG: The classic Super Mario RPG has been given a facelift with new graphics and it’s now available on Nintendo Switch! Join the team of Mario, Bowser, Princess Peach, and original characters Mallow and Geno, in an RPG filled with twists, turns, and treasure. To recover seven stars and repair the Star Road, Mario and his allies must take down the menacing Smithy Gang. Whether you played the original game or are new to the adventure, you can dive into this Nintendo Switch version of the very first RPG in the Super Mario series! Super Mario RPG is coming to Nintendo Switch on Nov. 17.
- Nintendo is working on a new version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the Switch. Pretty cool, right? You’ll get to follow Luigi as he faces all kinds of spooky challenges in Evershade Valley. Can he do it? We’ll find out next year! There’s still more info to come, so keep your eyes peeled.
- Princess Peach is getting her own game! It’s set to come out in 2024, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll be up to. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
- Pikmin 4 is going to be amazing. You get to customize your character and meet up with the Rescue Pup Oatchi and the plant-like Pikmin. Even if you’re new to the series, this game is a great place to start. You’ll travel all around the planet to collect treasures and fix the Rescue Corp’s spaceship. There are even Dandori Battles, where you compete with your opponent to collect as many objects as you can in a set amount of time. And, for the first time, you can explore underground caves and go on night expeditions! Just watch out for the creatures that come out at night – but don’t worry, the new Glow Pikmin will keep them at bay. This game is coming to the Switch on July 21, and you can check out a demo on June 28 in the Nintendo eShop or on Nintendo.com. Exciting, right?
- Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2: They were originally on the Nintendo GameCube system, but now you can find them on Nintendo eShop or in the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com. You can buy them separately or together in a digital bundle that’s cheaper. A physical version that comes with both games will also be out on Sept. 22. This means that you can play all four main games in the Pikmin series – Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3 and, as of July 21, Pikmin 4 – on the same system.
- Batman: Arkham Trilogy: Be the ultimate protector of Gotham City with Rocksteady’s critically acclaimed trilogy! Get all the DLC for the games in one complete package on Nintendo Switch this fall. With the help of lots of other Pokémon, Tim Goodman and his chatty Pikachu sidekick work together to figure out a series of weird events in this cool adventure game. Palia is a fun massively multiplayer online game, so you can hang out with friends in each other’s homes and go on adventures together in a cool, welcoming community.
