On October 15, 2012 Marvel Studios announced that Edgar Wright’s long, long-in-the-works Ant-Man movie had begun pre-production and will land on November 6, 2015. That’s a release date several months after the summer bow of The Avengers 2, so will Marvel use that opportunity to tease the exploits of Hank Pym, the scientist who can switch size and control ants as Ant-Man. Shooting is scheduled to begin in January 2013 at Pinewood Studios in London.
Ant-Man tells the tale of biochemist Dr. Hank Pym who uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.
