New full-length Peanuts movie announced and it may be CGI rather than traditional animation

Charles Schulz Charlie Brown Peanuts GangAccording to the L.A. times, Fox has announced that animation studio Blue Sky will be producing a full-length animated film based on Charles Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip. The planned released date is November 25, 2015. From Schulz’s comments, the L.A. Times suspects that the movie will be CGI rather than traditional animation.

“We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film.”

Blue Sky are the folks behind Ice Age. The film will be directed by Steve Martino who also directed Ice Age: Continental Drift and Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who. The film is unnamed right now and is based on a script written by Schulz’s son and grandson.
