Green Lantern series gets greenlight. Will air exclusively on HBO Max.

Green Lantern

Green Lantern, which was first announced last year, has been given an official series order for ten one-hour episodes on HBO Max. Details are still sketchy but we have learned about a few of the Lanterns we’ll be meeting. Green Lantern will include longtime Lanterns like Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Sinestro, Killowog and Alan Scott. Scott’s inclusion is interesting because his backstory differs widely from previous Lanterns.

Green Lantern comes from executive producers and writers Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim, along with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrowverse, Titans, Stargirl, and Doom Patrol), Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Batwoman) and David Madden.

Green Lantern is the DCTV series to be developed for HBO Max, coming on the heels of the recent announcements of Peacemaker, a James Gunn-written spinoff and the as-yet untitled Gotham City Police Department series from Matt Reeves and Terrence Winter.

Other DC Universe shows on HBO Max include Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn and Titans, and previously aired network shows like Batwoman.
