Showtime’s eagerly awaited prequel DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN series is set to premiere on Friday, December 13, for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan, available for streaming and on-demand. It will then make its US on-air debut on Sunday, December 15, at 10pm ET/PT. Internationally, viewers in the UK, Canada, Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria can watch the series exclusively on Paramount+ starting December 13th. The drama series consists of 10 episodes and tells the story of America’s favorite serial killer training.
Set in Miami in 1991, DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) journey from student to vengeful serial killer. As his violent urges become impossible to suppress, Dexter must learn to control his darker side. Under the tutelage of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he embraces a Code aimed at identifying and eliminating those deemed worthy of death, all while evading detection by law enforcement. This proves particularly challenging for young Dexter as he embarks on a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN also stars Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Patrick Dempsey. Michael C. Hall returns to voice the iconic inner monologue in Dexter Morgan’s head.
DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN is executive produced by Clyde Phillips and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Executive producers also include Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (DEXTER, Six Feet Under), Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with the series being produced by Robert Lloyd Lewis (The Lincoln Lawyer). Michael Lehmann (Heathers) serves as directing executive producer.
