The latest episode of “One Piece” has provoked widespread backlash among fans, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment over what is being called the slowest and most stretched-out installment of the series in 2025.
Viewer Frustration Reaches Breaking Point
As the newest “One Piece” episode debuted worldwide, the disappointment was immediate. Fans criticized the episode’s excessive use of filler content and sluggish pacing, with many stating that integral plot points were delayed or drawn out beyond reason. Popular forums, fan pages, and comment sections filled up with claims that this episode marks a low point for the beloved franchise.
Longtime viewers are voicing concerns that inconsistent pacing and repetitive moments are disrupting the momentum of the current storyline. Some fans fear that the studio’s production schedule may be to blame, as animators struggle to keep up with the source manga. Others argue that such an approach risks alienating loyal viewers.
“The flashbacks oh my gosh. It sucks even more because we all know why Toei is doing this. They’re being committed to adapting 1 chapter per episode so since they did something special last time by going ahead into the first two pages of the next chapter, they HAD TO (they didn’t have to) go back to regularly scheduled programming, resulting in adapting LESS than a chapter of content. They could’ve just gone ahead to the next chapter with the first three pages to finish up Vegapunk and Saturn’s conversation so they didn’t have to use flashbacks. But no, we have to do 1 chapter per episode.”
holy fuck the pacing is dog shit
Previous episodes felt so quick. This one feels like a slog to finish although it got one of the best moments in the series.
Toei pacing strikes again. Half the episodes was just flashbacks of previous episodes
the audacity to call this an episode
Wow, the first half of the episode was one of the worst adaptations I’ve seen in the whole series.
this was the worst paced episode yet man, like wtf?
So 1/3rd of this episode was a flashback to events we just spent 6 episodes getting to see…
Studio Yet to Respond
So far, the animation studio behind “One Piece” has not issued an official response to the criticism. Industry analysts suggest that as negative sentiment gains traction online, the studio may face increasing pressure to address pacing issues and reassure the fanbase that improvements will be made in upcoming episodes.
