Halloween Ends Movie Watch – news and insider info on the Halloween Ends movie (October 14, 2022).

Halloween Kills Total Film cover showing Michael Myers mask

About the Halloween Ends movie.

Halloween Ends is the sequel to 2021’s Halloween Kills, the third and final in a 3-part trilogy that began with 2018’s Halloween reboot. It is directed by David Gordon Green.

Despite the title and its stance as the conclusion to the Halloween trilogy, the Halloween franchise will almost certainly not end with Halloween Ends. Co-writer Danny McBride said:

“I think no way and I wouldn’t want it [to end]. I feel like Michael Myers is such an iconic horror character, there’s a simplicity to why he’s scary that I think it will always be relevant for generations to come. I think we’re lucky enough to have a shot at it right now. I’m sure 10 years from now there’ll be another group of knuckleheads that think they have the answer to what they should do with Michael Myers next.”

Nick Castle says he’ll be back for Halloween Ends but not in the role we expect. January 28, 2022

Nick Castle, aka “The Shape” in John Carpenter’s 1978 original Halloween movie, has had cameos in past Halloween movies but has yet to return to work behind the Micchael Myers mask, which given the masked personal of the character, is mostly done by stunt doubles. However, Castle did confirm that he’ll once again be making an appearance in Halloween Ends. In a Twitter post, he said:

“Unfortunately, this and other recent articles on the production of Halloween Ends mistakenly think I am playing Michael Myers. The talented James Jude Courtney will once again play MM. I’ll have a fun cameo but let’s give credit where credit is due.”

Despite brutal attack by The Shape, Kyle Richards will return in Halloween Ends. December 7, 2021

Variety reports that despite the brutal attack by The Shape (Michael Myers), Kyle Richards will be returning to the role of Lindsey Wallace in “Halloween Ends”. Richards originally starred in John Carpenter’s 1978 original film, “Halloween,” as Lindsey Wallace under the care of babysitter Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) on a fateful night in ’78.

Halloween Ends will jump forward four years after the 2018 events portrayed in Hallowed Kills. October 21, 2021

Director David Gordon Green has revealed the next installment will leap forward four years following the events of 2018’s Halloween and Halloween Kills (which also took place in 2018).

“We’re jumping time a little bit in [Halloween Ends] but part of what we’re exploring is how Laurie and a few of our characters have processed those years between Halloween 2018 and that night’s events and tragedies to Halloween 2022 [tracing the journey] to where they will come to fruition in their psychological aftermath.”

Halloween Ends will focus on Andi Matichak’s Allyson, whose parents and boyfriend Michael killed.

Filmmaker David Gordon Green says he’s come up with a new twist ending for Halloween Ends. October 15, 2021

Filmmaker David Gordon Green says Halloween Ends will have a different feel to it – and it has a new twist ending.

“Halloween Ends is very different in tone from Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills, and I think that’s part of my self-indulgence. I very often jump around in genres and explore different themes and characters through movies. I just came up with a new twist ending on the ending that existed a couple weeks ago, and that’s something that only I hold the piece of paper that has those words on it. So no spoilers here.”

Jason Blum and David Gordon Green discuss the challenges of uniting Halloween (1978) fans with Halloween (2018). October 15, 2021

Producer Jason Blum and filmmaker David Gordon Green never expected the Halloween (2018) reboot to be as successful as it was. Now they look back at the “impossible task” of pleasing both Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018) fans as they target a new generation of horror buffs. They told Hollywood Reporter:

“It was daunting because John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis and everyone are very emotional about this franchise and have lots of feelings about it. David, most of all. And Jamie was hesitant, too. And John was hesitant, too. And everyone felt great about not only what David pulled off but how he pulled it off. So when we came into [Halloween Kills], everyone was more relaxed, having fun, looser and trusting of each other. You create better things when the people involved trust each other.”

Director David Gordon Green says Halloween Ends will jump into a contemporary timeline. October 14, 2021

In an interview with Uproxx, Halloween director David Gordon Green revealed that Halloween Ends, the follow-up to 2021’s Halloween Kills, will jump to a contemporary timeline.

“Halloween Ends jumps into a contemporary timeline. So we go from two episodes that are the same night in 2018. And then we’ll get up to speed with … It’ll take place the time of its release.”

This jump to the present includes, of course, the coronavirus pandemic.

“So if you think about it, I mean, where we’re leaving these characters on Halloween 2018, the world is a different place. So not only do they have their immediate world affected by that trauma, having time to process that trauma – and that’s a specific and immediate traumatic event in the community of Haddonfield. But then they also had a worldwide pandemic and peculiar politics and another million things that turned their world upside down.”
