About the Haunted Mansion movie.

Haunted Mansion will center around a mother and son duo. In the market for a new dwelling, the pair feels called to the old, spooky mansion. Quickly realizing the building holds age-old secrets and mysteries within its walls, the mother and son come face to face with lost spirits still attached to the eerie abode.

Disney’s Haunted Mansion reboot is written by Katie Dippold (Heat, Ghostbusters) and D.V. DeVincentis (America Crime Story) and produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich through their production company Rideback. Rideback’s Nick Reynolds will serve as an executive producer. The film is directed by Justin Simien. Shooting has taken place in both Atlanta and New Orleans.

Haunted Mansion stars Rosario Dawson as Gabbie, Tiffany Haddish as Harriet, Danny DeVito as a college history professor, Owen Wilson as a priest. and LaKeith Standfield as Ben Matthias.

Haunted Mansion release date pushed to August 2023. September 15, 2022

Disney today announced the release dates for several of their upcoming projects including Inside Out 2, Mufasa: The Lion King and the live-action remake of Snow White, among others. Joining this list of newly announced release dates is a change to the previously scheduled debut of the live-action The Haunted Mansion film. The movie’s release date moved from March 10, 2023, to August 11, 2023.

Disney releases Haunted Mansion logo and official synopsis. April 28, 2022

Disney just released the new logo and synopsis for the upcoming film based on the fan-favorite Disney ride. Haunted Mansion is set to be released on March 10, 2023. The new logo features a font resembling the Haunted Mansion fence against a black background.

“In this mysterious adventure, a doctor (Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Haddish) and a crotchety historian (DeVito).”

Disney announces official release date for Haunted Mansion. February 26, 2022

Disney has been revealed that we can expect to see the film in theaters everywhere in just over a year from now in March 2023. So far signed on in starring roles to bring the story of ghosts and ghouls back to life are Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Academy Award nominee LaKeith Stanfield (Judas and the Black Messiah), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Owen Wilson (Loki), and Rosario Dawson (Briarpatch). The studio is keeping character backgrounds to themselves, so we don’t yet know anything about whom each performer will portray. The only exception is DeVito, who has been revealed to take on the role of a curmudgeonly professor.
