Rumors regarding Final Destination 6 said Saw sequel writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are attached to pen the screenplay. Then months later, Deadline mentions Lori Evans Taylor is “currently writing ‘Final Destination 6′” indicating that Melton and Dunstan are no longer attached.
Final Destination 6 is a soft reboot of the franchise and will appear directly on HBO Max.

The director behind the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home, has joined the creative team behind New Line’s relaunch of its Grand Guignol horror franchise Final Destination. Watts’ wife and partner, Dianne McGunigle (“Cop Car”), is also producing, alongside longtime “Final Destination” producers Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor.
Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick are writing the screenplay from a story by Watts based on his treatment.
