
About the Star Wars Andor TV Series.
Disney+’s Andor features Diego Luna as he reprises his Rogue One role of Cassian Andor. Set five years before the events of Rogue One, the 12-episode series will follow the adventures of the titular hero rebel spy during the formative years of the Rebellion. It will explore tales of espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.
The new Star Wars prequel series will also star franchise alums Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma and Alan Tudyk as Cassian’s droid sidekick K-2SO, who won’t appear in the first season. It will also feature the introduction of Star Wars newcomers Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona. It has also been rumored that Forest Whitaker,and Ben Mendelsohn are reportedly reprising their respective roles as Saw Gerrera and Director Orson Callan Krennic.
Andor is executive produced by showrunner Tony Gilroy, who previously directed the reshoots for Rogue One. Gilroy was originally expected to direct the three episodes but was forced to give up the position to Black Mirror‘s Toby Haynes due to pandemic-related travel issues. Production is currently underway in the UK.

Andor release date pushed back three months to accommodate a 3-episode premiere. August 1, 2022
Diego Luna was interviewed today on Good Morning America. It was supposed be a preface to the rollout of Andor this month. However, Luna broke the news that the series has been pushed back to September to accommodate a 3-episode premiere, rather than the previously announced 2-episode premiere which was set to arrive on August 31st. Now, the Rogue One prequel series will debut on Disney+ on September 21.

Disney+ today shared the trailer and key art from its upcoming series “Andor” that was featured this morning at Star Wars Celebration. The new, original series from Lucasfilm takes place prior to the events of “Rogue One” and launches exclusively on Disney+ August 31, with the first two episodes.




The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Actor Diego Luna has confirmed that production on Disney+’s newest Star Wars prequel series Andor has been completed.
“You’ll definitely see familiar faces. I can tell you about this project like no other because I can’t spoil the ending if you’ve seen [Stars Wars: Rogue One] already. No matter what I say, I can’t ruin the ending.
While I can’t say much, what I can tell you is that the experience was literally a transformation for me. It’s something that I really wanted to do and that I thought I was not going to be able to do. I’m more than happy.”
