
iHeartPodcasts, the top podcast publisher in the world, and Imagine Entertainment, the global entertainment company founded by Ron Howard and Brian Glazer, have announced the release of “Big Sugar,” a new investigative podcast about the multimillion-dollar sugar industry. This second title from Imagine Entertainment and iHeartMedia, is a true crime story focusing on the epic legal battle between the multimillion-dollar sugar industry and the migrant laborers who harvest sugarcane. The podcast reveals corporate malfeasance, human rights violations, DC lobbying, nutrition downfalls and environmental destruction. Relentless journalists and lawyers expose a complex network of relationships, policies, and transactions involving the highest levels of government and the communities where we live.
The podcast is hosted by Celeste Headlee, an award-winning, internationally recognized journalist and author of “Speaking of Race: Why Everyone Needs to Talk About Race.” She has hosted shows for NPR, WNYC, and PBS. Her interviewing skills and passion for the themes in the series will engage listeners everywhere.
