Description
This Hellraiser Cube Lament Configuration puzzle – working studio quality functional prop won’t open a portal to hell or summon cenobites, but it does come with an attractive display stand!
This is the original Hellraiser Cube Lament Configuration puzzle – not a cheap plastic or balsa wood knockoff. Inspired by the Lament Configuration puzzle box from the hit movie Hellraiser, this Hellraiser Cube Lament Configuration puzzle is constructed from premium PVC plastic with immaculate attention to detail, this beautiful piece measures approximately 3-inches by 3-inches and weighs nearly a pound! And yes, the moveable cube can be “unlocked” to form an alternative star configuration. Inside the cube is a small hollow cylinder which can be used to stash a surprise gift!
The Lament Configuration is a fictional lock puzzle or puzzle box appearing in horror stories by Clive Barker and in the Hellraiser movies. The Hellraiser box is a mystical/mechanical device that acts as a door — or a key to a door — to another dimension or plane of existence. The solution of the puzzle creates a bridge through which beings may travel in either direction across this “Schism”.
How to open the Hellraiser cube lament configuration puzzle
From the email we received from customers, it appears as if many have not seen the movie and do not understand what happens when you open the box. But if you truly want to open it anyway, understand that the box *does* open – but it is very hard to figure out how. We almost threw ours out the window before someone finally managed to get it opened (once you get it opened; subsequent tries are much easier).
It doesn’t take any tools to open but does take some finger strength to open the first time. We believe the secret is to torque the box at the correct angle. Grip one corner between your fingers (thumb on the topside of the piece, finger on the bottom side), then grip the other corner between your other thumb/fingers and press/pull to get it started. You will see it shift slightly when you apply the torque at the correct angle. Once you see it shift, you’re home free.
