Swiss Army Knife of handcuffs

According to U.S. Patent Application 20120298119, Scottsdale Inventions, LLC of Paradise Valley, Arizona has invented a pair of futuristic high-tech handcuffs that can deliver electric shocks powerful enough to incapacitate a prisoner via a remote control.  In addition to shock therapy, the cuffs can issue warnings to the prisoner via audible announcements, vibration, or a flashing light.  The handcuffs can also be programmed to constrain a prisoner to a zone.  If the prisoner strays outside the defined zone, a mild to teeth-rattling shock ensures they change their ways and follow the straight and narrow.  Similarly, RFID tags can be attached to objects which the detainee is not allowed to go near (e.g. guns).  The RFID tags also trigger the cuffs to shock the prisoner when the cuffs come into their range.

The handcuffs can also include an accelerometer, inclinometer, potentiometer, location sensing device, microphone, camera, a biometric sensor or a combination of devices to assist law enforcement in tracking a prisoner should he get away.  And if you still don’t think these are the Swiss Army Knife of handcuffs, they can also include marking dyes, debilitating gas, or inject the prisoner with a sedative drug.
