Relive Memories with Apple Vision Pro: Apple’s first 3D camera lets you capture your favorite memories in stunning detail. With Spatial Audio, every spatial photo and video takes you back to a moment in time, like a celebration with friends or a special family gathering. View your entire photo library on iCloud, and enjoy your photos and videos at a life-size scale with brilliant color and spectacular detail. Every Panorama shot on iPhone expands and wraps around you, creating the sensation that you are right where it was taken.
FaceTime in 3D: With Apple Vision Pro, FaceTime calls take advantage of the room around you. Everyone on the call is reflected in life-size tiles, and Spatial Audio makes it sound as if participants are speaking right from where they are positioned. When you wear Vision Pro during a FaceTime call, you are reflected as a Persona, a digital representation of yourself created using Apple’s most advanced machine learning techniques. Your face and hand movements are reflected in real-time, so you can watch a movie, browse photos, or collaborate on a presentation together.
More app experiences: Apple Vision Pro has a new App Store where users can find apps and content from developers. They can access hundreds of thousands of familiar iPhone and iPad apps that run smoothly and work with Vision Pro’s new input system. Developers in Apple’s community can take advantage of Vision Pro and visionOS’ powerful and unique capabilities to design new app experiences and improve existing ones for spatial computing.
visionOS introduces a new platform for developers to create amazing app experiences. With Apple Vision Pro’s App Store, users can easily find new apps or access hundreds of thousands of familiar iPhone and iPad apps in a larger-than-life scale.
A Revolutionary Operating System and User Interface
visionOS is an operating system that supports the low-latency requirements of spatial computing. It has a three-dimensional interface that makes digital content appear in a user’s physical world, responding dynamically to natural light and casting shadows so the user can understand scale and distance. Apple Vision Pro has an entirely new input system controlled by a person’s eyes, hands, and voice, enabling users to browse through apps, select, scroll, or dictate using different gestures.
Apple Vision Pro also has a feature called EyeSight, which helps users stay connected with those around them. With EyeSight, Vision Pro feels transparent when a person approaches the user, letting them see the person while also displaying the user’s eyes. When the user is using an app or immersed in an environment, EyeSight gives visual cues to others about what the user is focused on.
Breakthrough Design
Apple Vision Pro is a highly advanced personal electronics device that builds on Apple’s experience designing high-performance products like Mac, iPhone, and wearables such as Apple Watch. To achieve ambitious goals for performance, mobility, and wearability, Apple utilized the most advanced materials possible.
This compact device has an astonishing amount of technology. It features a singular piece of three-dimensionally formed and laminated glass, which is polished to create an optical surface that serves as a lens for the wide array of cameras and sensors needed to blend the physical world with digital content. The glass flows into the custom aluminum alloy frame that gently curves around the user’s face. The modular system allows for a tailored fit to accommodate a wide range of people. The Light Seal is made of a soft textile, and comes in a range of shapes and sizes, flexing to conform to a user’s face for a precise fit. Flexible straps ensure audio remains close to the user’s ears, while a Head Band — available in multiple sizes — is three-dimensionally knitted as a single piece to provide cushioning, breathability, and stretch. The band is secured with a simple mechanism, making it easy to change to another size or style of band.
Unrivaled Innovation in Hardware
Apple Vision Pro is designed to provide outstanding computing performance in a small wearable form factor. It features an ultra-high-resolution display system built on an Apple silicon chip, using micro-OLED technology to pack 23 million pixels into two postage-stamp-sized displays that offer wide color and high dynamic range. This breakthrough technology, combined with custom catadioptric lenses, provides excellent sharpness and clarity, resulting in amazing experiences. Users who require vision correction will use ZEISS Optical Inserts to ensure visual accuracy and eye tracking.
The Apple Vision Pro experience is centered around an advanced Spatial Audio system that creates the illusion of sounds coming from the surrounding environment, matching the sound to the space. The audio pods are equipped with two individually amplified drivers that deliver Personalized Spatial Audio, based on the user’s head and ear geometry.
Apple Vision Pro features a high-performance eye tracking system that uses high-speed cameras and a ring of LEDs to project invisible light patterns onto the user’s eyes for responsive input. The eye tracking system, along with breakthrough display and advanced audio experiences, is powered by Apple silicon in a dual-chip design. The M2 chip provides standalone performance, while the R1 chip processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones in real-time, ensuring that content appears right in front of the user’s eyes. The R1 chip streams new images to the displays within 12 milliseconds, which is 8x faster than the blink of an eye. Apple Vision Pro is designed for all-day use when plugged in and can last up to two hours with its external, high-performance battery.
Industry-Leading Privacy and Security
Apple Vision Pro prioritizes privacy and security, ensuring that users have complete control over their data.
Optic ID is a reliable authentication method that uses invisible LED light exposures to analyze a user’s iris, comparing it to the enrolled Optic ID data in the Secure Enclave to unlock Apple Vision Pro. Optic ID data is encrypted, meaning it is protected and never leaves the user’s device, making it inaccessible to apps or stored on Apple servers.
Eye tracking information is not shared with Apple, third-party apps, or websites, ensuring that where a user looks remains private while navigating Apple Vision Pro. Additionally, the camera and sensor data are processed at the system level, which means that individual apps don’t need access to the user’s surroundings to enable spatial experiences. EyeSight also includes a visual indicator that makes it clear to others when a user is capturing a spatial photo or video.
Apple Vision Pro starts at $3,499 (U.S.), and will be available early next year on apple.com and at Apple Store locations in the U.S., with more countries coming later next year.
