NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope captures infrared images of galaxies Arp 142, comprising the Penguin (NGC 2936) and the Egg (NGC 2937), which are interacting in a slow cosmic dance. Their mingling began 25 to 75 million years ago, triggering star formation in the Penguin, while the Egg remains mostly unchanged.
Andrew Takhistov, 18, of East Brunswick, NJ, was arrested for allegedly recruiting an undercover law enforcement officer to destroy electrical infrastructure to advance his white supremacist ideology. Takhistov planned to join the Russian Volunteer Corps in Ukraine, which specializes in sabotage. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $125,000 fine.
