First announced at New York Comic Con earlier this month, two new series from members of White Noise Studio, Ram V (The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, Swamp Thing) and Dan Watters (Home Sick Pilots, Loki), will each debut as five-issue crime drama miniseries in February 2024, published by Image Comics.

The One Hand

First up is The One Hand, a collaboration between Ram V, artist Laurence Campbell (Old Haunts, BPRD: Hell on Earth), and colorist Lee Loughridge (Deadly Class). This relentless procedural will keep readers guessing until the very end.

Ari Nasser, a detective in Neo Novena, is on the verge of retirement with an impressive track record. However, a brutal murder occurs, resembling the work of the “One Hand Killer” – a criminal Ari had already apprehended twice in the past.

What ensues is a dangerous game of cat and mouse as Ari chases the killer through the rain-soaked streets of Neo Novena. Ari is determined to uncover the secrets and codes of this case, no matter the cost. However, each revelation leads deeper into the dark heart of his futuristic city and Ari’s own troubled soul.

The One Hand stems from one of those 3 a.m.-frantically-looking-for-a-notebook-to-make-notes kind of ideas,” said Ram V. “It took hold of my imagination a couple of years ago and would not let go until the story was made. It is ambitious, seeking to do new things in the medium and unlike anything I’ve made before. I cannot wait for people to experience it.”

The Six Fingers

Next, The Six Fingers will feature writer Watters collaborating with artist Sumit Kumar (Man-Bat, These Savage Shores) and Loughridge providing the coloring. The story is an equally puzzling mystery that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Johannes Vale, an archaeology student at Neo Novena, has always been in control of his life. However, when he commits a brutal murder using the same methods as a historic and notorious serial killer, everything starts to spiral out of control. The problem is, Johannes doesn’t remember doing it.

What follows is a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse as Johannes seeks refuge in the rain-soaked streets of Neo Novena. He will stop at nothing to uncover the secrets and codes behind his actions and the reasons behind them. However, each revelation only takes him deeper into the dark heart of his futuristic city and Johannes’ own broken soul.

Watters added: “This book is one we’ve been boiling up for years, a true labor of love. We’re doing something with it I’ve never seen in comics before, and I think readers are going to have a hell of a time uncovering the secrets and sins buried between its bloody pages.”

The One Hand #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, February 7 and The Six Fingers #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, February 21.

Both The One Hand and The Six Fingers will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
