WoW: Forever Raises Every Class’s Damage Ahead of Its Big Launch

world of warcraft forever

World of Warcraft: Forever is making one last-minute adjustment before launch: every class is getting stronger. Blizzard’s final tuning pass increases player damage across the board, then raises the health of high-level enemies to preserve the challenge. The change follows feedback from the beta and gives the retro MMO a considerably more generous power curve than its original inspiration. The final class changes arrive just ahead of release.

The reasoning is less about handing players an easy win than freeing the developers from the limits of the original game’s class design. Blizzard explained that preserving old power budgets meant every new ability, talent, or system had to take something away elsewhere. Increasing damage lets the studio add modern improvements without forcing each class into a strict exchange of strengths and weaknesses.

The adjustment applies to the entire roster rather than targeting only underperforming specializations. That matters for a game built around familiar classes, but also redesigned talents, expanded abilities, and new opportunities for exploration. Blizzard’s official development notes and class tuning include numerous final revisions, from talent placement and ability functionality to changes intended to make class identities clearer in combat.

Forever is designed as a permanent branch of World of Warcraft alongside the modern game and Classic. It returns players to a reimagined version of the original continents, with progression to level 60 and new stories, regions, dungeons, raids, and systems planned for the years ahead. Blizzard has also introduced the Skyborne as a new playable race, with different faction paths leading to distinct class options and a starting adventure on Zephras Isle.

The launch is scheduled for November 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. Pacific time worldwide, with access included for players who have an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time. Blizzard’s launch overview positions Forever as a fresh version of original Azeroth rather than a simple museum piece, while the final damage increase suggests the studio is willing to adjust its old-school foundation when the beta shows that players need more room to experiment.
