Hot Wheels is set to release an electrifying new Premium line of 1:43 scale die-cast vehicles in June. These collectibles are larger and more detailed than the 1:64 models and have seen high demand from Hot Wheels collectors, car enthusiasts, and auto-makers alike.
These new Hot Wheels are constructed with a die-cast body and chassis, Real Riders wheels, and up to 30 separate production pieces, ensuring that every detail is as authentic as possible. From separate ABS parts for enhanced detail like exhaust, suspension, and drivetrain, to graphic decoration on the interior and brake rotors, these models are designed to impress.
Hot Wheels has created brand new castings for this line, featuring some of the most groundbreaking automotive machines ever put on the pavement. The selection includes vehicles from a variety of genres, such as Muscle, Exotic, Sport, Racing, Import, and Off-Road, all chosen for their global appeal.
Hot Wheels has a time-honored tradition of creating packaging that elevates the collector experience. Their product is designed to be displayed, without having to choose between being an “opener” or a “card collector.” According to package designer Julian Koiles, the artwork is created to sell the fantasy of each vehicle and show them as they would possibly appear in an advertisement or auto enthusiast magazine. The vehicles themselves are positioned at an angle that maximizes visible decoration.
Each vehicle features a full-sized card within a Kar Keepers clamshell case, making the cards themselves collectible, similar to baseball cards or posters. The vehicles are nested in a shape-molded piece to secure them without glue. The clamshell holds everything together, allowing the car and card to be removed without destroying the card. They can then be replaced in the clamshell for display, storage, and protection.
Hot Wheels plans to begin their 2023 product line with three mixes, which will be available at Target stores.
