20th Century Studios has released a trailer for A Haunting in Venice, a supernatural thriller directed by Oscar® winner Kenneth Branagh. The film is based on Agatha Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party and stars Branagh as the famous detective Hercule Poirot. The cast includes Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Michelle Yeoh. The film will be exclusively shown in theaters starting September 15, 2023.
The story is set in post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, where Poirot attends a séance at a haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, Poirot is forced into a world of shadows and secrets.
The film was produced by Branagh, Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, and Simon Kinberg, with Louise Killin, James Prichard, and Mark Gordon serving as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Academy Award® nominee Michael Green. The filmmakers also worked together on 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and 2022’s Death on the Nile.
