Riddick 4: Furya follows the success of 2013’s Riddick. In January 2014, Diesel announced on his Facebook page that Universal wishes to develop a fourth Riddick film. He added that the fourth film is titled Furya and will have an R rating.

Vin Diesel is teaming up with director/writer David Twohy for the fourth installment of the franchise, Riddick: Furya. You’ll recognize Twohy as the mastermind behind all three of them, including the script for Pitch Black with Ken and Jim Wheats.

According to Deadline, Riddick is headed back to his home world in the new movie, which he barely remembers and is worried has been destroyed by the Necromongers. But when he arrives, he finds other Furyans who are fighting for their survival against a new enemy. And get this – some of these individuals are more like Riddick than he ever could have imagined.

“Incredible meeting today, thanks team you know who you are… Let’s just say Furia maybe closer than you think. #Riddick”

Van Diesel hints that Riddick Furya may be getting close to production.

Van Diesel said in a recent interview:

“David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It’s just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we’re shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome.”
