About the Star Trek UNTITLED movie.

On July 13, 2021 it was announced that WandaVision director Matt Shakman closed a deal to direct the next untitled “Star Trek” film for Paramount and Bad Robot. Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson (Captain Marvel) wrote the script which was later rewrote by Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires. JJ Abrams is producing via his Bad Robot banner. Plot details are being kept under wraps. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 9, 2023.

The as-yet still untitled Star Trek movie has been delayed until late 2023. November 10, 2021

Paramount announced today that the release of the still-untitled Star Trek movie will be pushed back from June 9, 2023 to December 22, 2023 to accommodate for a shift in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film.

Deadline story (later edited) breaks several Star Trek news flashes – aka “rumors”. (July 24, 2021)

An Article in Deadline confirmed much of what we already knew but also broke a few news flashes that were later edited out of the article. We can presume they were edited out because they were found to be unconfirmed. According to Deadline, the original cast and crew will return which would hint the film takes place in the Kelvin Timeline. Deadline also reported the film would move quickly into production, possibly as early as Spring 2022.
