Emma Roberts and Laurence Fishburne to star in sci-fi thriller ‘The Astronaut’
Emma Roberts and Laurence Fishburne are set to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller, The Astronaut, produced by Brad Fuller of A Quiet Place and The Purge. The film will start production in Ireland later this year, with Roberts playing the role of astronaut Sam Walker, who is discovered alive in a damaged capsule adrift deep in the Atlantic Ocean.
General William Harris, played by Fishburne, places her under NASA surveillance in a highly secure house for medical testing and rehabilitation. However, when disturbing events occur on the property, Walker fears that something extraterrestrial has followed her back to Earth. The Girl in the Woods producer Cameron Fuller and Sleight producer Eric B. Fleischman are also producing the movie, with Jess Varley making her solo writing and directorial debut.
