Army of Thieves is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, produced by Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, Schweighöfer and Dan Maag, with a screenplay by Shay Hatten, from an original story co-written by Snyder and Hatten. It is a prequel to Army of the Dead.
On August 6, 2021, Lionsgate chariman Joe Drake said the Hunger Games prequel film, based on Susan Collins’ novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, is aiming to start production in early 2022.
Filmmaking involves a complex process to take a movie from an idea to screen. An idea must be developed into a screenplay, casts and crew must be hired, budgets drawn up (and followed), and locations scouted – all before the concept is even applied to film.
Role Play is produced by Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) who will also star in the movie. The screenplay, written by Seth Owen, follows a young married couple whose life turns upside down after secrets are revealed about each other’s past. The project is believed to be franchise-able.
