Hollywood historians are trying to preserve an alley just south of Hollywood Boulevard because of several historical events that took place there.

The Kid (1921), Cops (1922), and Safety Last (1923) each had scenes shot in the alley. The location was popular because at the time, it was one of the few passable gritty lanes in an area that was still mostly fruit orchards.

Gary Dauberman will direct Stephen King’s iconic vampire tale Salem’s Lot. The filmmaker, who directed Annabelle Comes Home, and co-wrote It and It Chapter Two, will direct the Salem’s Lot reboot for producer James Wan.

Although the pilot of Gilligan’s Island was filmed in Hawaii, the rest of the series was filmed on this set. The set, built in 1964, was located on CBS Studio Center’s (old Republic Studios) back lot. The lagoon water is only 4-feet deep.
