In March 2021, it was announced that J.J. Abrams would produce a new Superman movie. DC has said the film will feature a Black Superman for the first time on the big screen.
In March 2021, Oscar-nominated Promising Young Woman filmmaker Emerald Fennell was hired to write the script for a Zatanna movie. The film will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company.

It was announced in June 2018 that Jared Leto’s Joker is getting his own standalone movie, with Leto serving as executive producer.

In February 2017 Warner Bros. revealed that The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay had been signed to direct a Nightwing movie with Bill Dubuque (The Judge) writing the screenplay.
It was reported that J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot would be developing films and TV shows based on the Justice League Dark comics.
