Say it isn’t so – no microSD nor removable battery on upcoming LG Optimus Nexus?

Rumored LG Optimus Nexus smartphoneMore rumors leaked today about LG’s Optimus Nexus, the Nexus phone that LG is rumored to be making for Google. The Nexus smartphone is pretty close to LG’s Optimus G device but some of the spec changes are pretty shocking. For instance, the leaked specs indicate the Optimus Nexus will not have a microSD card slot, a standard staple on Android phones and a huge rallying cry in the Google vs. Apple war. In addition, the upcoming LG Optimus Nexus will not have a removable battery. Possibly the device will be a low-cost, “any idiot can work it”, noobie-type smartphone? Or maybe it will be the first to feature Android 4.2 (a minor update).  And possibly nobody will buy the thing…

Here are the additional specs:

  • Quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 4.7 inch 1280×768 True-HD IPS screen
  • 8 Megapixel rear camera
  • 8GB and 16GB versions
  • Wireless charging

The device is expected to hit the market in November.
