This fall, Apple AirPods software updates will introduce new features that will enhance the personal audio experience. AirPods Pro (2nd generation) will have three powerful new features: Adaptive Audio, Personalized Volume, and Conversation Awareness, which will make them easier to use in different environments and interactions. The entire lineup will also have new and improved features that will make calls and Automatic Switching even smoother.
AirPods have revolutionized personal audio by providing unmatched performance in an iconic design. AirPods Pro (2nd generation) initially offered a way to reduce loud environmental noise for more comfortable listening on a daily basis. This fall’s updates take it a step further with the introduction of Adaptive Audio, a new listening mode that seamlessly combines Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation depending on the user’s environment to provide the best experience at any given moment. This new listening mode will adjust the noise control experience as users move between changing environments and interactions throughout the day.
To further enhance the personal audio experience, Personalized Volume utilizes machine learning to comprehend the surroundings and preferences of the user over time, to automatically fine-tune the media experience.
For an innovative way to interact with nearby individuals while wearing AirPods Pro (2nd generation), users can simply start talking and Conversation Awareness will lower the volume and emphasize the voices in front of the user, while simultaneously minimizing background noise.
Furthermore, transitioning between Apple devices with AirPods is even simpler with the updates to Automatic Switching. The time it takes to connect between a user’s Apple devices is now significantly faster and more dependable, making it easier to move from a favorite podcast on iPhone to a work call on Mac.
To make things more convenient, AirPods now have an added feature that allows users to mute or unmute themselves during calls. This feature is available on AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generations), AirPods (3rd generation), and AirPods Max. All users need to do is press the stem or Digital Crown on AirPods Max to mute or unmute themselves, making multitasking effortless quickly.
To quickly mute or unmute themselves during calls, users can press the stem on AirPods Pro and AirPods, or the Digital Crown on AirPods Max.
